Observation before interpretation
What the owner entered or the image analysis observed stays distinct from higher-level interpretation. The source record comes first.
Poopy combines structured observations, longitudinal comparison, machine learning, and conservative inference to make health history more useful without pretending that patterns are diagnoses.
Poopy is designed around longitudinal intelligence. Instead of treating each photo, symptom, meal, or event as an isolated data point, the product keeps useful observations attached to the individual dog and to the time in which they happened.
It is better context: what was observed, what has been typical, what changed nearby, and what remains unknown.
Follow the same stool observation through four levels of context. The observation does not change. What changes is how much of Luna’s history is available around it.
By itself, this is a structured observation. It does not yet tell you whether 5 is typical for Luna, unusual for Luna, healthy, unhealthy, or why it happened.
Softer than Luna’s recent pattern. The same observation now has dog-specific context. That is different from calling it unhealthy.
Carrot topper recorded about 13 hours before the first softer stool.
Two softer observations appear after the food change.
Appetite and energy stayed normal, followed by a return toward Luna’s usual range.
These are saved observations and owner-entered health context.
Timing and repeated associations can be useful context.
Causal and medical conclusions remain outside what this record establishes.
Poopy is designed to become more useful as history accumulates while remaining explicit about the difference between observation, comparison, association, and medical judgment.
What the owner entered or the image analysis observed stays distinct from higher-level interpretation. The source record comes first.
When enough history exists, a new observation can be compared with what has actually been typical for that dog rather than relying only on a generic population range.
One stool is an observation. A sequence can show clustering, persistence, recovery, or a shift away from what came before.
Food, symptoms, medications, routine, interventions, and outcomes remain connected to the relevant period in the dog’s timeline.
Timing and repeated associations may be useful clues. They do not establish that one event caused another.
Machine learning helps interpret ambiguous observations. Deterministic systems preserve product rules, reporting boundaries, and health-safety constraints.
Interpret image features and uncertainty without turning them directly into medical conclusions.
Preserve what may be shown, compared, summarized, or withheld when the available evidence is limited.
Useful language that stays inside the boundaries of the underlying record.
Poopy is not designed as one black-box model that gets to decide what everything means. Different parts of the product have different jobs.
Machine learning is useful where visual observations are messy, variable, or difficult to encode with simple rules alone.
Reporting language, comparison rules, safety constraints, and what the product is allowed to claim should remain deliberate rather than emergent.
A system can be useful without pretending every observation is certain, every association is causal, or every change is medical.
A health-intelligence product is only useful if it stays clear about the line between organizing evidence and practicing medicine.
Poopy is designed to make owner-observed history easier to capture, organize, and communicate. Diagnosis, treatment, laboratory testing, imaging, and medical judgment remain veterinary decisions.
Poopy is being built so that more history can make the record more useful without making the claims more certain than the evidence allows.
