Privacy Policy

Your dog’s history can become deeply personal to you. This policy explains what information Poopy may collect, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices you have.

Effective August 30, 2026 Last updated August 30, 2026
The short version

We use your information to make Poopy work.

Poopy is designed to help you create and use a private history of your dog’s digestive observations. We collect information you choose to provide, along with limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

01

You choose what to record.

This can include dog profile information, stool observations, photos, symptoms, food changes, medications, supplements, notes, and related context.

02

We use it to provide Poopy.

Information may be used to save your history, generate structured observations, build Personal Pattern, create Vet Reports, operate your account, and improve reliability.

03

You remain in control.

You can correct information you have recorded and may request access to or deletion of your information, subject to applicable law and limited operational exceptions.

01

Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how M87 LLC (“M87 LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information in connection with Poopy, including the Poopy mobile application, poopyapp.com, related websites, support communications, and services that link to this policy.

By using Poopy, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, veterinary practices, or other services that we do not control.

02

Information we collect

The information Poopy receives depends on how you use the service and what you choose to record.

Account information

When you create or maintain an account, we may collect information such as your email address, account identifiers, authentication information, and information associated with account security or access.

Dog profile information

You may choose to provide information about your dog, such as name, age, breed, weight, profile image, and other profile details.

Digestive observations and related history

Poopy may store information you record about your dog’s digestive history, including bowel movement dates and times, stool consistency, color, appearance, owner observations, photos, symptoms, appetite, food or treat changes, medications, supplements, and other context you choose to provide.

Some information may be entered manually. Other information may be derived from photos or other data through automated processing and then presented to you for review or use.

Photos and media

If you choose to upload or capture a photo through Poopy, we may process and store that image as necessary to provide the feature you requested. Photos may be associated with the corresponding logged event and related observations.

Communications with us

If you contact us for support, privacy questions, feedback, or other purposes, we may collect your email address and the contents of your communication, along with information reasonably necessary to respond.

Technical and usage information

When you use Poopy, we may automatically receive limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, timestamps, feature interactions, diagnostic information, crash information, and performance data.

We may use this information to operate the service, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, understand reliability, and improve Poopy.

03

How we use information

We may use information collected through Poopy to:

  • provide, maintain, and operate Poopy;
  • create and maintain your account;
  • save and organize your dog’s logged history;
  • process photos and other observations;
  • provide Personal Pattern and other longitudinal features;
  • create and display Vet Reports and other user-requested summaries;
  • preserve corrections, provenance, and relevant event history;
  • provide customer support;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, security incidents, or technical problems;
  • measure and improve performance, reliability, usability, and features;
  • comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements; and
  • protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, our business, and others.
An important boundary

Poopy is designed to organize observations and history about your dog. Information processed by Poopy is not used to establish a veterinary diagnosis, and Poopy does not replace veterinary care.

04

Automated and AI-assisted processing

Some Poopy features may use automated systems, including artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems, to process images or other information and produce structured observations.

For example, a stool photo may be processed to identify visible characteristics that can be organized into a saved observation. Automated output may be combined with deterministic rules, your dog’s prior recorded history, and information you provide.

Automated observations can be incomplete or incorrect. When Poopy allows you to correct an observation, your correction may take precedence in the current presentation while prior processing information is retained for provenance, reliability, or audit purposes.

AI is not the final authority

Automated systems may help interpret visual ambiguity, but they do not diagnose your dog, determine the cause of a digestive change, or replace professional veterinary judgment.

05

How information is shared

We may disclose information in the circumstances described below.

Service providers

We may use companies and service providers to help us operate Poopy. These may include providers of cloud hosting, data storage, authentication, communications, analytics, crash reporting, security, customer support, automated or AI-assisted processing, and other infrastructure.

These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to perform services for us and subject to applicable contractual or legal restrictions.

At your direction

Poopy may allow you to export, download, or share information, such as a Vet Report. When you choose to share information with a veterinarian or another person, that disclosure occurs at your direction.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid governmental requests; enforce our terms; investigate fraud or security issues; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Poopy, our users, or others.

Business transactions

Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

Advertising and sale of information

Poopy is not currently designed around selling your logged dog-health history or using stool photos, Vet Reports, or Personal Pattern information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or choices required by applicable law.

06

Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Poopy, maintain your account, preserve the history and features you request, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our agreements.

Different categories of information may be retained for different periods. For example, operational logs, backups, security records, and records required for legal or accounting purposes may remain for a limited period after other account information is deleted.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was retained, we may delete, de-identify, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with our practices and applicable law.

07

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No method of transmission, storage, or security is perfect, and we cannot guarantee that information will always remain completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

08

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. We may also decline or limit a request where permitted by law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

Poopy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Poopy is operated by a company based in the United States. If you access Poopy from another country, information may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Privacy laws in those jurisdictions may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

When we update the policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method.

Your continued use of Poopy after an updated policy becomes effective is subject to the updated policy, except where applicable law requires another form of notice or consent.
